TFIS 2
Don't treat people differently just because they have a serious disease like cancer, don't look at them as if they have a contagious disease or show them pity, they need your compassion to have the strength to fight their disease,Hazel is facing the same problem with her mother and her used to be high school friends, everyone around her is treating her differently except her support group friends and the little girl she meets at the mall that ask her questions about her oxygen tubes in the nose like it's something normal. she wishes everyone would act like the little girl.
I would admit that when I come across someone on his/her wheel or using a pair of crutches, I usually turn my head and look back with a strange or curious look. I can't imagine if I know someone has a contagious disease, but I will learn from your reading experience to be more compassionate toward them. Looking forward to seeing your next blog.

DeleteUnfortunately most of us thats what we do!!!!
I cant wait when you to hear from Hemingway!!!!
You got that right Lauren.. We are somehow driven to pity and thus sympathize with whomever is sick around us, forgetting that the least they need is to be reminded of whatever they are going through !
